Internet Explorer Tweaks

Disable playing videos online on Web pages.

Surfing a page takes time if it has videos. If your internet connection is slow then you may want to disable playing videos on web pages when online. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the string value display inline videos, in the right panel, to no which can disable playing videos. However, if you want to revert to the original state, change the value data to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Steps to Follow

  • First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

  • Next, go to <b> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] </b> and right click on the String value 'Display Inline Videos' and select 'Modify'.

  • Finally set the value data as 'no' to disable playing videos inline on Web pages.
