Prevent Configuring the Background Color in IE




This policy setting prevents users from configuring the background color in Internet Explorer.
If you enable this policy setting, a user cannot choose the background color in Internet Explorer. You must specify the background color If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, users can choose the background color in Internet Explorer.

Steps To Follow

  • Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.



Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.

  • Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Internet Explorer, Internet Settings, Display settings, and then select General Colors in the left column of the Group Policy editor.

  • Double-click Prevent users from configuring background color in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
  • Select Enable, set the background color, and then click OK to save the changes.
