How to Enable and Disable AutoComplete in Internet Explorer

AutoComplete is a feature, which enables Internet Explorer to automatically fill in a web address or a username/password combination in a form when it recognizes such information based on your typing of a partial entry. It can save your typing, especially if you frequently visit the same site or reenter the same information in forms. However, it could also cause some safe problem, if someone else uses your PC. The feature can be enabled / disabled by modifying a preference in Internet Explorer.

Steps to Follow

  • Launch your Internet Explorer.

  • Go to "Tools" -> "Internet Options".

  • Switch to "Content" tab. Find "AutoComplete" panel and click "Settings".

  • Uncheck all the boxes to disable AutoComplete. Also click "OK" when it's done.
